Case Study 4
Concrete Pond Repaired
This four hundred gallon pond in Leicester was built using
concrete in 1975. The owner was experiencing a significant leak
problem which would not have been cured by simple patching up with
mortar.
Having inspected the severity of the cracks, these
were sealed with a primary layer of 450 gram glass. The entire pool
was then sealed using two 300gram layers building up a 600g/metre
thickness. There was no need to remove the flagstones as the
fibreglass was joined to these on the underside to ensure a totally
waterproof seal. This has given the pond a life expectancy of
another thirty years.
